The Funky Fish House neighborhood in Cape Harbour was fashioned after the historic Fish Houses from long ago days in Pine Island Sound. Set in a resort-like setting, the Fish Houses are built on and over the water’s edge. The upper decks can be as high as 20’ above the water and extend over the water as much as 17’. Just like the old Fish Houses, boats can be parked next to or under the houses.
The sailboat access Fish House lots are located on the main channel to the Cape Harbour Marina. They are within walking distance of four restaurants, numerous boutiques, boat rentals, and boat tours. Other amenities include the use of several community pools, tennis, basketball, a playground and fitness center.

Each Funky Fish house includes a deeded dock. Boats may be parked parallel to the dock or a finger pier may be constructed for perpendicular parking. Boats may be up to 55’ in length based on the lot. From the water there are plenty of places to go. Cabbage Key is a popular destination to eat a “Cheese Burger in Paradise.” Safety Harbour in North Captiva is another stopping point with several restaurants. The Fish Shacks, some of which are listed in the National Register of Historic Places, are close by.
